This guidebook describes 45 day walks and one long distance route in the Scottish Borders that are a mixture of high and low level walks.  The guidebook covers 5 areas, which are the Cheviots, Tweeddale, the Ettrick Hills, Moffat Hills and Manor Hills. The main centres of the guidebook are the towns of Wooler, Kelso, Melrose, Peebles and Moffat.

For each walk there is a comprehensive route description along with OS mapping, at a scale of 1:50,000. The walks are graded and can be easily customised with alternative start points, route variants and shortcuts. The guide's introduction offers plenty of practical information about how to get there and where to stay, while the appendices list useful contacts and tourist information centres.  Also included is a long distance path along the Border from Gretna to Berwick-on-Tweed.

These walks through the Scottich Borders explore many historical sites, from Iron Age forts on hillsides to bastles and towers dating from the Border Reivers era, all benefitting from stunning and varied scenery.
