The 20 circular routes have been designed with maximum off-lead time and minimum exposure to roads and vary in length from 3 to 9 miles. Each walk has information on the distance and terrain, livestock likely to be encountered and in an emergency, the nearest veterinary surgery. Each walk has numbered route instructions, information on how to get to the start and places of interest along the way.
There are walks through Crummack Dale with its breathtaking view; through Conistone Old pasture to Conistone Dib; beside the tranquil waters of the Thruscross reservoir in the Washburn Valley and along Gunnerside Gill to The Old Working Smithy with its fascinating history, to name a few.
