The 30 walking routes in the guidebook are through Germany’s most northerly mountains, the Harz Mountains, located in central Germany, in Europe, between Hannover and Leipzig. The walks are mainly within the Hochharz National Park - some accessed from the area's narrow-gauge steam railway.
